Penis Anatomy 101 (NSFW)

Tia seems to always be talking about vaginas in her articles. But today, she'll discuss a very friendly friend of the vagina; the penis. He is also known as: dick, sausage, big fella, or salchicha grande (large hotdog in Spanish). He comes in lots of different shapes and sizes, and complements the vagina and/or anus very well. Since we’re always talking about his partner in crime, I figured I would introduce him to his usual owner—the men out there reading this. And in the meantime, the women reading this can also learn a little bit about what it means to have a third leg. This article isn't intended to be a complete guide. Just a small tutorial. GetLusty's Tia Champagne reports.

* * *

Penis length

Hold your breath guys and don’t shriek with excitement. Your penis is actually longer than you think. There you are, taking a second look. Unfortunately (for some), nothing has changed since before you started reading this article.

I can only give you some fun facts, not miracles. But really, your penis does not only consist of what you see on the exterior of your body. Half of the length of the penis starts inside of the body, under the pelvis. So the next time your buddy asks you about your penis—go ahead, say it’s 11 inches long.

Circumcision

Most men are uncircumcised. When males are born, they have a foreskin, almost like a pizza pocket sleeve that lies around the penis. In some cultures, it is normal to have this removed while the child is still an infant. There are benefits and consequences to this.

We don't condone either circumcision or lack of. In fact, circumcision rates have been decreasing, according to numerous media outlets.

For starters, by removing the foreskin, there is less chance of having unwanted bacteria hang out in the gentle area. However, removing the foreskin could also result in men experiencing less intense orgasms. There are a host of other problems associated with removing the foreskin. On the other side, supports of circumcision say its linked to lower rates of sexually transmitted diseases, though we can't vouch for those statistics. There are those who are for and against it, but it really comes down to cultural and religious traditions that determine the circumcision. Either way, learn to love what you have because there’s a lot to love.

Length vs. girth

Length and girth both hold their importance in pleasing women. As I mentioned before in a recent post, the G-Spot is located about two inches into the vagina on the front wall. That means, for some women, a long penis is not necessarily beneficial.

You don’t need much to reach that specific point. However, for many women, pleasure is not just about the depth reached with a penis, but how the penis fits and feels against her vaginal walls. Many women enjoy the feeling of a “full” vagina. That means a girthy penis, which tends to be thicker in circumference, can fill more of a vagina than a thinner penis. For some, the length and girth don’t matter as long as the male knows how to maneuver it to her liking or at least use his tongue or fingers as a replacement. So really, any penis has the potential of being fulfilling.

Male G-Spot

Some say the G-Spot of the male genitalia is the prostate. Now, many men love the feeling of having their anus fingered or eaten out. However, for those who have not tried or do not want to try anal stimulation, the penis has plenty of spots that provide great sensations and even better orgasms. To start off, the head of the penis tends to be the most sensitive. To clarify, the underside of the head is usually the most sensitive. However, this does not mean the testicles are not true pleasure zones. A little stroking of the penis and mouthing of the scrotum can easily allow a man to orgasm in less than five minutes. It really is the motion and the sensitivity of each person’s genitals. There’s a lot to play with so start playing!

Masturbation

There is no unreasonable amount of times you can masturbate. Will your penis get sore after the tenth time in one day? Probably. Will you stop producing sperm forever? Absolutely not. Depending on your sex drive, every man is different.

For some, three times in one day is absolutely normal. For others, they just don’t have enough time to work, sleep, and masturbate as much as they would like. For others, they have partners that take care of their basic human needs. And for the rest of us, there’s a combination of both. Practicing self-love is sometimes the best love of all—it is on your time and is catered to your needs. And at GetLusty, we’re all about being good to not only your partner, but to yourself.

So as a man, don’t value your penis only for its length and girth, but for its value. It helps the reproduction of the human race and allows for both men and women alike to feel a much-needed, fulfilling pleasure.

6 Tips for Success: Vulva 101 (NSFW)

At GetLusty, we have to admit it; we love vagina. Vagina's come in all shapes, colors and sizes, so we aim to showcase all kinds of vagina's in our articles--not just the touched up one's. Now, last week we talked about loving the vagina—whether its your own or your partner’s.

In this article, we'd like to tell you a little bit about what makes a vagina happy and healthy and on great days, horny. GetLusty's Tia Shine reports.

* * *

First off, grab a hand mirror. I’m not going to ask you to touch it—just take a look at it. Don’t worry—we’re doing this together. Now, don’t go looking for the vagina—you’re not going to see it. What you are going to see is the vulva. Most women do not know that what we actually can see with the naked eye is called the vulva. The vagina is the actual canal that leads from the opening to the cervix.

Notice your curves

First thing you should notice—there is a layer of fat where pubic hair grows. That’s called the mons pubis. It is there to protect the vaginal bone and heighten sexual arousal as part of the clitoral complex. It connects to the labia majora, the outer lips of the vagina, which are also used as boundaries to protect the vulva. Within the labia majora, we have the labia minora, which are strongly connected to clitoris.

Find your clitoris

Like I mentioned in my previous article, Ode to the Vagina, seventy percent of women experience orgasms from the clitoris. Just a suggestion—learn to love your clitoris. With 8000 nerve endings, it is there solely for pleasure and can provide you with sexual euphoria, time and time again. Confused where all of this is? Look at this picture and remember—starting from the mons pubis, you have your urethra, the vaginal opening, and then the anus. This seems elementary, but “which lucky hole is it?” is a question many women ask themselves when putting in their first tampon.

More on the vagina

The vagina. It has a few functions—it is used for birthing, sexual pleasure, and the release of blood during menstruation. It can get longer and wider depending on the time of the month, the penis of the moment, or the birth of the year.

A word on the G-spot

Inside the vagina, there lives the oh-so popular, yet controversial part: the G-spot. The Gräfenberg spot was discovered in 1981 and is considered to give women longer and more intense orgasms than the clitoris. It is known to be two to three inches inside the vagina against the front wall. If you’re interested in finding it, go for it!

Slip one or two fingers and put pressure in the direction of your stomach and you should feel a small, bean-shaped organ. If you do not want to do it yourself, you can use a vibrator or even your partner. Go ahead—your vagina is ready when you are. With that said, below are a few ways to make sure your vagina is feeling good all year long.

Bonus! Tips for the success of your vulva & vagina

1) Notice your vaginal discharge. It is the mucus your vagina releases as a way to clean and protect the vagina from bacteria.

Every woman differs in the amount, but for the most part, it is a clear mucus that is released from the vagina during all moments of the day and can vary depending on the woman’s cycle. It also tends to increase during your sexy-time with your partner and even when you have a few dirty thoughts during work. It is an expression used by the vagina to let us know how horny and how healthy we actually are.

2) Get to know your smell. Every woman has a distinct smell that comes from between her legs. If it smells a little different or more potent than usual, think about the last time you showered. Also, remember that the vagina may smell differently when you are ovulating, menstruating, or sexually aroused. If uncertain, talk to your gynecologist.

3) Don't douche. You do not need to douche your vagina. It is unnecessary and could actually cause infections and unhealthy bacteria in the vagina. Just wash thoroughly while you’re in the shower and that should be enough.

4) When you are sexually aroused, do not be alarmed of your labia minora and majora appear swollen and/or red. You more than likely do not have an allergic reaction to your lube or are blushing with your lady parts—you’re just super turned on.

5) Some people say you should wear 100% cotton panties while you sleep, but I say let your vagina take a breather. It’s usually the only chance she gets to get some much-needed fresh air.

6) Treat her well. Wear silky underwear if that makes you feel sexy. Give her a little love in the morning when you wake up or before you go to sleep—or both. Surprise her with a midnight porn session.

From this article, you can tell the last thing the vagina is is easy—she’s intricate and purposeful. So keep her happy, healthy, and horny.

An Ode to the Vagina

How many of us out there truly know our vaginas on a personal basis? Do you know where the word vagina originally stems from or why Brazilian waxing may not be so great for us down there? Tia Champagne is here to shed some light on your vagina in this very informative, fun and entertaining article! Maybe it will inspire you to get to know your vagina.

* * *

Oh, the lovely petunia. Or at least that’s what I call it. You might know it as the vagina, cunt, pussy, pizza pocket, or “ the privates.” It doesn’t matter what you call it—it matters what you define it as and how you feel about it.

So for beginners, the vagina actually comes from the Latin root that means “sheath for a sword.” Direct? Sure. Appealing? Maybe not. So I challenge you to name your vagina and allow this article to help you get acquainted with that beauty between your legs. For those of you who are men, you can learn a little bit about vaginal appreciation because vaginas deserve a whole lot of love!

One size fits all

For starters, the vagina is about three to four inches long. Considering a baby can fit through there, it is important to remember that it can expand twice its size.

I can confidently say that one vagina fits all (maybe not at the same time). So for all you well-endowed individuals out there, there is hope where there is vagina.

A word on hair

Now some ladies like it when it's completely bare down there. We recently heard from Notsosecret's Alyssa Rose about how she relishes her hairless vagina. If you want to get rid of your hair, we totally support you.

If you don't--we think that's great, too. The hair around the vagina is there for a few reasons. No, it is not because the vagina should be hidden or because she is shy. It might not make much of an appearance in modern porn, but if you check out the Playboy magazines from the eighties, it was wild and demanded attention. Women were proud to reveal it instead of heading to salons to remove it.

Times have changed and so has vaginal styling. However, its purposes haven’t changed and continue to benefit that sensitive area. The hair is there as a barrier to protect it from germs and bacteria, to capture pheromones as a signal to potential mates, and to represent the female body as physically ready for procreation.

Practice makes perfect

Now, if you’re not ready to necessarily procreate, have a fun and safe time practicing! The clitoris has 8000 nerve endings and is solely used for pleasure. For the men reading this, do not get offended if your partner plays with herself during intercourse.

70% of women do not orgasm solely from intercourse. Shocking? Maybe. But faking an orgasm tends to be a lot easier for women than actually having one. That’s why it is important to know at least a little bit about the vagina—for both men and women.

The vagina exists to be used—not abused. I do not consider it precious, delicate, or gentle. From taking a pounding from a dick to birthing a child, the vagina is anything but fragile. It is strong, intricate, complicated, and quite intriguing. It has sexual, physical, and evolutionary purposes. It is where life begins and more importantly, where orgasms occur. It is the heart of a woman’s sexual soul. Learn it, touch it, love it.

4 Tips for Making Sex Amazing (Without the O)

It's getting toward the end of Orgasm October. We've talked a lot about orgasms. Having different kinds of female orgasms, surprise female orgasms, male multiple orgasms and beyond. It's totally normal to equate a really intense orgasm with great sex. What if we didn't have an orgasm? Tia Champagne is here again to talk about orgasms (or lack there-of) during sex.

* * *

Like many other contributors have already mentioned, achieving orgasm between 2 partners in a relationship requires some practice, communication, and trust. There has to be mental and physical arousal for the body to really finish what could be the highlight of sexual intercourse. However, who said having an orgasm means good sex? Not me.

We all know the definition of sex. Whether it includes oral, anal, or purely penetration, but how many of us really know what good sex is? And does good sex mean having a more than happy, but orgasmic ending? What I'll explain here is not necessarily. When it doesn't, it's not the be-all-and-end all of sex. In fact, it can be an extremely satisfying experience.

Below are 4 tips to feel fully satisfied (and amazing) without reaching orgasm.

#1 Drop the expectations

Having wonderful sex isn't just about having clitoral or other orgasm. Don’t have sex expecting to orgasm. Sometimes, our expectations only lead to disappointment.

You know that cliché quote that says something about life being a journey, not a destination? Well, think of orgasm in that way. If it happens, it happens. But what happens on the way is super important too. Enjoy your time together--be intimate and open. At times, your orgasm will happen. Other times, you might just learn a thing or two about your partner you might not have known otherwise.

#2 Don't be afraid of quickies

For some women, a quickie could be a great time--with or without orgasm. The spontaneity, the rush, and sometimes, the funny awkwardness of it all could be the best sex you’ve had. On the other hand, some women prefer to take an hour--half of that for foreplay and the other for just intercourse. Take the time, even if your partner has a raging boner, to explore each other. If he’s impatient and needs his kick, tease him. Don’t let him get it until you’re ready, too. Teasing doesn’t necessarily have to start before sex—it can also happen during. Moral of this story? Enjoy what’s going on in the moment and don’t focus too hard on what could happen later.

#3 Focus on the fun

When you’re not expecting to orgasm, sometimes you focus on the new tricks you want to try. Backwards cowgirl could be uncomfortable at first for a lot of women.

Maybe the penis is hitting the cervix too deeply. She might feel weird with her anus in his face, or maybe her legs aren’t long enough to get that full bounce.

Either way, when you’re not expecting an orgasm, you’re more likely to change up your routine to learn what other positions turn you on. Taking a little time out to focus on the newness of it all could actually be the best thing you and your partner ever did.

#4 Use your six senses

While doing it, do a little bit more. Don’t just focus on your vagina or his penis. Bite his ears, suck his nipples, smell his hair. Using your six senses could arouse you in a different way than stimulating your clitoris. Watch his penis slide in and out of you. All of a sudden, your partner is your own personal porn star! Allow yourself to watch, listen and feel what’s going on with both of your bodies and not just between the legs.

Overall, orgasm is wonderful. And just one more time for fun-sies, orgasms do make sex a great experience. But sex can also be great without it.

What do you think good sex is and why? Let me know by sending an email at tia@getlusty.com. If you have any questions, concerns, or fantasies you’d like to share—go ahead and email me or leave a comment below. I’d love to talk to ya.

Female Orgasm: the Essential Foreplay (NSFW)

It's Orgasm October. Didn't you know? There have been several questions from our gentlemen readers about why female orgasm is an essential foreplay activity. We also recently shared a picture on Facebook proclaiming, "A gentlemen knows it's good manners to eat pussy." With around 50% more 'Likes' than usual, our spidy-sense started tingling.

Let's talk more about female orgasm and that ever-so-important activity of foreplay. Tia Champagne is here again to talk about why foreplay is essential, including the female orgasm.

* * *

So far, we’ve talked about vulva, penis, foreskin and breasts, oh my! Now that we know what they do and why, we can talk a little bit about why we actually care: orgasms. We want orgasms. Me, you, the short guy down sitting across from you, and the chubby, fine young lady sitting next to you (who very possibly, could be me). We want orgasms and we want them NOW.

So let’s talk about what they are from a physical perspective and how we can get them. Now, tomorrow, and for always. It's time for talk of the female orgasm.

What is the female orgasm?

Orgasm (from Greek οργασμός orgasmos, from organ to mature, swell, also sexual climax) is the sudden discharge of accumulated sexual tension during the sexual response cycle, resulting in rhythmic muscular contractions in the pelvic region characterized by an intense sensation of pleasure. For women, there are rhythmic muscular contractions that produce stimulation and pleasure, which is considered an orgasm. Now, an orgasm is not a nod or shake of the head type of good feeling.

It’s usually a “I don't hear you. And even if I could, I don’t care what you’re saying—OMG,” type of good feeling. While experiencing an orgasm, usually women feel different surges of pleasure coming from the clitoris, the labia minora, majora, and the vaginal hole itself. The difference between a great sensation and an actual orgasm is the contractions—your vaginal lips pulsating and secreting vaginal fluids and cum.

Now, the G-Spot is a controversial part of the woman’s vagina because some people believe it exists while others don’t. For those of us who do, an orgasm from the G-Spot could be even more powerful and sexually satisfying than the clitoral one. Some women don’t notice, some like a combination, and others have their preference between the two. Honestly, all are great and all are welcome with open legs.

Why foreplay is essential

For most, foreplay (including cunnilingus) is a great way to reach orgasm because of erogenous zones. Around 75% of women don't achieve orgasms during sexual intercourse alone. For women, the vulva and clitoris are the most sensitive erogenous zones and best areas to stimulate during foreplay. Erogenous, and Eros comes from the Greek word, ἔρως , and genous comes from the Greek word born. I’m almost positive that we need a lot more than touching to create love, but foreplay is a fun start.

Erogenous zones are areas of the body that are sensitive to touch and create arousal. For some, a scalp massage can be a huge turn on because there are sensitive parts of the head that could be pleasurable. Other common erogenous zones include the neck (purr), the clavicle, feet, ears, breasts, stomach, and pubic bone. Find more about his erogenous zones here.

I mean, really, any body part can be an erogenous zone depending on the person. Go ahead and research. Touch his (or her) Achilles heel and let me know how it goes. I’d love to hear from you. Comments/questions/concerns/fantasies—I’d love to hear them and I'll be giving more advice along the way. Stay tuned for my next posts and even more advice for GetLusty for Couples!

To fun foreplay and over-the-top orgasms,

Breast Cancer Awareness: 3 Tips for Prevention

It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. That means men and women have the responsibility to think about breast cancer. How can we prevent it? This is our bodies; our lives. Our health is our livelihood. Without great health, it's impossible to think, feel and be sexy. So this is a public service announcement. Think about it. Prevent breast cancer. GetLusty's Tia reports.

* * *

It’s October. For most people, red leaves, cute new sweaters, and Halloween come to mind. For some of us, our boobies become a priority. After all, it is Breast Cancer Awareness month. On average, one out of every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Although breast cancer is the second leading cause of death amongst women, death rates have been declining since 1990. However, breast cancer will continue to exist as a burden on both men and women’s lives across the world. So in honor of those who have experienced breast cancer themselves or in their families, we’re going to talk about preventative care.

Below are three preventive tips in the fight against breast cancer:

#1 Know your medical history.

Ask your mom and dad if they know of anyone in their family that had a type of cancer and specifically, breast cancer. Because there is no exact reference in diagnosing the cause of this particular type of disease, genetics, family history, and personal changes in the body all need to be examined.

#2 Know your tits.

If you’re experiencing liquid coming out of your nipples and you’re not nursing or pregnant, contact your doctor. If your breasts get a little more lumpy or sore during your period, that could be normal.

During your period, your breasts could appear to feel more sensitive or even look bigger. All of these are normal, but they may not be normal for you depending on your age and time of month. My best advice is to always have a yearly breast examination after the age of 20. After the age of 35, depending on your medical history, your doctor may request you come every 6-8 months. Either way, listen to your healthcare provider. Their job is to help your body stay healthy.

#3 Touch yourself. Down there and up top!

There are a couple of ways to do a breast self-exam. One way includes lifting your right arm and using your left hand as the examination tool. Use three fingers and start from the armpit. With or without hair, you should be able to feel any lumps by moving your fingers in a circular motion.

Don’t be alarmed if you feel texture underneath the skin—that’s normal. However, if you feel a pea-sized lump, I’d go ahead to the other side and see if the other side has it too. No body is the same and sometimes, the body produces fat cells and our lymph nodes can become swollen. Now, take those three fingers and that circular motion and go across the breast. Then, switch hands and do the other one. Because changes occur at different times of the month, practice doing it while you are on your period and while you aren’t and see if there are any changes. Simply being aware of your own body could save your life.

I know this article probably didn't make your nipples hard. I get it. It’s a touchy subject (literally). However, it’s important to not only know this stuff, but to practice it. Not only for women, but for the one percent of men who get breast cancer too. For the curious men out there reading this: get to know your woman’s breasts. In many cases, you’ll be the only one giving them the attention they deserve. For the woman, with her hand up her shirt reading this: the next time you see your mister, go ahead and slowly rub his chest. You might have to explain why, but trust me, it’s worth the explanation.

Foreskin 201: Why and Why Not? (NSFW)

We got some flack for offending the foreskin. We didn't really mean to. We love foreskins! GetLusty loves all penises, dicks and your preferred nickname. Our Penis Anatomy 101 article has received more comments per reader than any other article on GetLusty!

So, of course, the follow up is... What are these folks (mostly men unsurprisingly) so passionate about? We may turn this into a series. Is this sentiment that's leading to the USA reducing its rates of circumcision? There are many fervent advocates on both side of the fence. So here, we address these issues. Call it a debate! Feel free to continue the conversation below. We love comments!

* * *

Foreskin: The Why and Why Not?

Last week, I wrote an article that discussed a few interesting facts about the penis. Circumcision was mentioned, and to some individuals, some of the statements made, real and true, offended those who might call themselves “intactivists.”

Basically, these passionate individuals are against the practice of circumcision, because to them it is considered genital mutilation. Because of such a strong response, I thought I’d take the time out and mention the pros and cons of circumcision, as well as the whys behind circumcision—whether they are medical, sexual, religious, or cultural reasons.

As I mentioned in Penis 101, most men, specifically 60-75% men in the United States, are estimated to be circumcised. That’s not a small number, and to some, it is too large of a number. But wait, let’s talk about why this might be.

Medical

1) Medical: Foreskin is supposed to be retractable. In other words, it should be able to slide up and down the shaft and cover the head of the penis, without discomfort or pain.

However, only 1 in 20 newborn have foreskin that is retractable right away. For some boys, it takes a year or even three. For others, there might be a problem where the foreskin is unable to retract or retracts and gets stuck near the base of the penis. These are actual medical conditions, which can be cured through circumcision. In that case, parents feel it beneficial to circumcise their child so he does not feel pain and possibly have more complications.

Now, when the child is born with a functioning foreskin, it is highly recommended to teach the child how to clean their foreskin. On the underside of the foreskin, there is a mucus membrane which is very similar to the inside of the eye and mouth. This wet and warm area can harbor different types of bacteria and some men find the lack of cleaning can produce a cheese-like substance to sit underneath the foreskin. Not to say there is anything wrong with cheese-like substances, but that isn’t the most appealing sight and definitely not the kind of cheese a woman wants to eat while hanging out with her partner.

Because the foreskin traps bacteria in the genital area, there is a higher risk for sexually transmitted diseases for uncut guys. Now, this isn’t only a risk for the men, but also for the men and women they are sleeping with.

Cervical cancer and penile cancer are both caused by different strands of HPV. Interestingly enough, five studies showed that no man who was circumcised as a newborn developed penile cancer, while the lifetime risk for an uncircumcised man developing this cancer was one in six-hundred.

Does that mean that all men should be circumcised because of these reasons? Absolutely not. It just means that men need to be aware of their foreskin and make sure it’s clean and taken care of, especially before, during, and after practicing safe sex.

Sexual

2) Sexual: Although research is unclear and scientists are not certain of these findings, by removing te foreskin, it is commonly assumed that men are losing some sexual stimulation. It is true that the foreskin has nerve endings that could cause more sensitivity and sexual pleasure to be experienced.

Also, the foreskin is sometimes viewed as beneficial because it acts as a sleeve that makes the gliding of the penis during masturbation and sex easier and naturally lubricated.

 However, if you ask a circumcised guy if they feel less or more with or without their foreskin, they most likely would not be able to tell you. The reason for this is because most men are circumcised while they are infants. In fact, some men would even say that they have a hard enough time controlling their ejaculation without extra sensitivity of the foreskin. Each man is different and for many men, it is what it is. They don’t know better with or without the foreskin. Don’t get me wrong—there are websites and blogs that showcase men who are upset that they didn’t have a choice in their circumcision.

Because of religion

3) Like we mentioned above, some men just need to get circumcised because their foreskin wasn’t fully functional. But for many, it was simply their parents’ decision based on cultural and religious practices. In the Jewish faith, it is customary to have the newborn boy circumcised on the eighth day. In this religion, it is considered a rite of passage and performed by a specific religious leader trained in surgical procedures.

Similarly in Islam, the boys are circumcised. It does not have to be right after the baby is born, but is seen as a rite of passage as well. Now, circumcision is not only done by Jewish or Islamic people, but by Christians all over the world as well. From Kenya to the United States, it is considered a common practice and not frowned upon by many people.

However, there are many individuals who do consider circumcision to be the sole choice of the male who has the penis. It makes sense, but obviously, circumcision is not a simple topic considering medical, sexual, and religious concerns. Understandably, some males feel like circumcision wasn't, 'their choice' and they'll leave it up to their own sons to make that choice. We understand! Foreskin can be a big part of who you are. And it can feel like something's missing when you don't have it.

At GetLusty, we believe in respect and love—of yourself and of one another. To each their own. To healthy genitals. To great sex. To you—with or without your foreskin. There is a whole lot to love.
