Below, Kali explores in a Kink Academy video, about how to use a dragon tail whip.

#1 How did you get into being a dominatrix? Why did you turn to startups/ business over being a dominatrix?

I’ve been a professional dominatrix for 10 years and was an exotic dancer for two years before that. I found both to be empowering and allowed me to create a very flexible life.

When I came up with the idea for KinkAcademy.com I didn’t give up professional domination for more than a year into it, until it was clear I needed to devote all my time (and then some) if I really wanted the site to succeed. I am incredibly passionate about all my Erotication websites and I still have my personal submissives to boss around!

#2 Why did you start PassionateU & Kink Academy?

As a BDSM focused educator for the last 9 years, I’ve met so many people that were hungry for straight-forward, playful, accurate sex education. Those needs coalesced in my head along with the realization that many people can’t make it to live classes for a variety of reasons.

Thus, the online sex education revolution started! I looked around and saw that live classes, books, sex blogs, online forums and DVD’s were the only options. Granted, those can be great solutions, but the idea of on-going sex education by a wide variety of educators that was privately available at the touch of a button just made sense.

#3 What are challenges you've seen with couples having a great sex and love life?

As a kink coach, the biggest challenge I’ve seen with couples is just being to damn busy! Life has gotten more overloaded all the time, so creating space to feel sexy with each other ends up at the bottom of the to-do list.

It’s easy to feel uninspired & unmotivated even if there’s a strong desire to have a healthier sex life. We aren’t give the tools to communicated and solve this difficulty. But there are solutions! And I’ll share some of them in the next question.

#4 What are some tools you've used to have a better love life (better communication and/or other tips/tricks)?

One of my popular sayings is “Structure can create Spontaneity”. It may seem counterintuitive to “schedule” sexy time, but it makes conscious room for it. Commit to whatever makes sense for your schedule and then give it your best shot.

Another trick can be to have sexy moments throughout the day & week that aren’t intended to produce immediate full blown sexual response and instead keeps your sexual selves in contact.

#5 Who are your role models?

Carol Queen is brilliant, experienced, articulate and gracious. It’s an inspiring combination.

Nina Hartley is a trailblazer promoting sexual confidence in women & reaching out to the mainstream with a positive message about pornography.

Barbara Nitke not only makes beautiful photography that shows the intimacy and eroticism of the BDSM world and pornography sets, she also took on the federal government to fight for sexual freedom of expression.

#6 What's next for you and your businesses over the next 6 to 12 months?

I’m always working on something! Right now I’m excited about my upcoming site BeASexEducator.com which will be a crowd-sourced community resource for current & aspiring sexuality professionals.

I’m a total information slut so this is going to be fabulous! There’s a few other projects I’m working on, but I don’t want to spill the beans just yet, ya’ll have to keep an eye on Erotication.com for more details!
